Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PDFFlow (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the PDFFlow mobile application (the “App”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your documents safe.

1) Summary (Quick & Clear)

  • Your PDFs stay on your device. We do not upload your documents to our servers.
  • No account required. You can use the App without signing in.
  • Ads may be shown. If enabled, advertising partners may collect limited device identifiers to show ads.
  • You control sharing. The App shares files only when you choose to share or export.
Important: If you open a PDF from another app, that file is provided by your device or that third-party app. PDFFlow only reads it to display it to you.

2) Information We Collect

PDFFlow is designed to work primarily offline. We do not collect your PDF content. Depending on features you use, the App may process the following:

  • Files you select or share: PDFs you open, export, or share (processed locally on your device).
  • App usage data (non-content): Basic events such as screen opens or feature usage may be collected if analytics is enabled in your build.
  • Advertising identifiers (if ads are enabled): Ad networks may collect device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID) and limited technical data to deliver and measure ads.

3) Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not upload your PDFs or scanned documents to our servers.
  • We do not read your PDF content to build profiles or sell data.
  • We do not require personal details such as your name, email, or phone number to use the App.

4) How We Use Information

  • To provide core features: Open, render, zoom, navigate, export pages, and share PDFs (locally).
  • To improve stability: Diagnose crashes or performance issues (if crash reporting is enabled).
  • To show ads (optional): Display advertisements and measure ad performance (if ads are enabled).

5) File Access & Storage

When you open a PDF, the App reads it from your device or from a shared link/URI. In some cases, PDFFlow may copy a PDF into the App’s temporary cache to improve compatibility.

  • Cache: Temporary files may be stored in the App’s cache directory and may be removed automatically by the system.
  • Exports: If you export pages as images, those images are saved to your device gallery or storage as you requested.
  • Sharing: Files are shared only when you press the Share action.

6) Permissions

PDFFlow requests only the permissions needed to provide features. Depending on Android version:

  • Read access (Documents/Files): Needed to open PDFs you choose from storage or receive from other apps.
  • Media/Photos access (optional): Needed only if you save exported images to your gallery.

You can manage permissions anytime from Android Settings → Apps → PDFFlow → Permissions.

7) Advertising (AdMob / Google Mobile Ads)

If PDFFlow displays ads, we may use Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Ad providers may collect and use information to show and measure ads.

  • Data may include: Advertising ID, approximate location (derived from IP), device information, and ad interaction events.
  • Purpose: Ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and analytics.
  • Controls: You can reset or limit your Advertising ID in Android settings.

8) Analytics & Crash Reports (Optional)

Depending on the version you install, the App may use analytics or crash reporting tools (for example, Firebase). These tools help us understand crashes and improve reliability. They do not include your PDF content.

  • Crash data: stack traces, device model, OS version, app version.
  • Usage data (if enabled): feature usage frequency and performance metrics.

9) Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data only in these cases:

  • With service providers: Advertising and analytics providers (only if enabled).
  • Legal obligations: If required by law or valid legal process.
  • With your action: When you choose to share a PDF or exported images using Android’s share sheet.

10) Data Retention

  • Documents: PDFFlow does not store your PDF content on our servers.
  • Cache files: Temporary cached files may be deleted automatically by the system or when you clear the App cache.
  • Exported images: Saved to your device until you delete them.
  • Ad/analytics data: Retained according to the respective provider’s retention policies.

11) Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the App and minimize data handling. Because documents are processed locally on your device, the primary security of your files depends on your device’s security settings.

  • Use device lock (PIN/biometric) and keep your OS updated.
  • Avoid opening sensitive files from untrusted sources.

12) Children’s Privacy

PDFFlow is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

13) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
